Yeah, it’s pricey. Insulin alone costs me like $30-$100 a month, depending on the type. Then add in special food and vet visits… it’s a lot.

Yeah, my vet recommended a high-protein, low-carb diet. Some brands are pricier than regular food, like $25 for a small bag of dry or $40 for a case of wet food.
FYI, regular vet checkups for diabetic cats aren’t cheap either. I pay about $100-$200 per visit.

Depends on the cat, but mine needs frequent glucose monitoring, so I go every few months.
My cat got diagnosed at around 9.5 years old. Seems like it’s more common in older cats.

That’s interesting… mine is around that age too. Do you think age affects how expensive treatment is?

IDK for sure, but older cats might need more vet visits, which adds up.
Just a heads up—if you stick to a feeding schedule and monitor blood sugar at home, you can keep costs down a bit.

There are glucose meters for cats, but ask your vet what’s best for yours. Some people use human meters, but accuracy varies.
Tbh, it’s a lot of work, but totally worth it. My diabetic cat has been doing great for years with the right care.

About 3 years now. Some cats live even longer with proper treatment!
