Anyone else working from home with their dog? Any tips?

I’ve been working from home for a while now, and let me tell you, having a dog around while trying to be productive is a challenge. As much as I love spending time with my dog, I sometimes feel like he’s got a sixth sense for when I need to focus. Any tips on how to manage work while giving your dog the attention they need? Also, what toys or activities do you recommend to keep them entertained while you’re busy?

I feel you, lol. I set up a routine for my dog and that’s helped a lot. I take quick breaks throughout the day to play with him or take him for a walk. It’s a good way to de-stress and get some exercise too!

@Marlowe
That’s a good idea! I haven’t been able to do that consistently, but I’ll try. How long do you usually spend on each break?

I usually go for 10-15 minutes. It’s enough for him to get some energy out and for me to clear my head a bit!

I’ve been working from home with my pup too, and I’ve found interactive toys are a lifesaver. He loves his puzzle feeder, and it keeps him busy while I get things done!

Oh, I need to get one of those! What kind of puzzle feeder do you use?

@Nyx
I got the ones from PetSafe, they’re pretty fun. Keeps him engaged for a good while!

I made a little corner in my living room just for my dog. It’s his quiet space with his bed, and he loves it! I think having a designated area for them really helps.

That’s actually really smart. My dog is always under my feet when I’m working, I might try that. How do you keep him from getting too antsy?

@Teo
I keep some toys nearby, and sometimes I’ll give him a chew. Helps calm him down a bit!

Treats are key! I give my dog some treats when I need to focus, and he’ll happily go nap for a while after. If I don’t, he’s always looking for attention :joy:

LOL, same! If I don’t give him something to do, he starts pawing at me. Which treats do you give him?

I scheduled a spa day for my dog once, and it was so worth it. It was like a mini vacation for both of us :joy:. If you’ve got a lot of work and can afford it, I’d say go for it!

That’s adorable! I had no idea there were pet spas. I’m definitely looking into that now :joy:

@Peyton
Yeah, it’s like a doggie day care with extra pampering. They get baths, massages, the works. Highly recommend!
