Anyone tried CBD for their pets, does it work?

Been hearing a lot about CBD for pets and wondering if it’s actually helpful. I saw a survey where 28% of pet parents said they’ve used it, but IDK how effective it really is. Does it help with joint issues and stress like people say? Also, how do you even give it to a pet? Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried it!

Yeah, I’ve given my dog CBD for joint pain, and I think it helps. He seems more relaxed and moves easier. I use oil and just mix it with his food.

How do you figure out the right dose? I don’t wanna give too much and make my dog sick.

@Hale
I started with a low dose and increased gradually. You can also check the product’s instructions or ask your vet.

Does it get them high though? I thought anything from cannabis would do that.

Nope, CBD doesn’t get pets high. THC is the part that causes that, and pet CBD products either have none or a tiny amount (less than 0.3%).

Yeah, my vet explained that too. CBD is totally different from THC. No weird effects, just relaxation.

I tried CBD treats for my cat’s anxiety, and I think they worked? Hard to tell with cats, lol. But she seemed calmer when we had visitors over.

What brand did you use? I’ve been thinking about trying it for my cat too.

@Ben
I used an organic one with no additives, but can’t remember the name. Just make sure whatever you get is low-THC and tested.

Are there any side effects? Like, what happens if you give too much?

Mostly mild stuff like lethargy, vomiting, or diarrhea if they get too much. That’s why it’s good to start low and monitor.

Yep, happened to my dog when I gave too much at first. She got super sleepy. I lowered the dose and she was fine.

I was gonna buy some, but I read that pet CBD isn’t FDA-approved yet. Is it still safe?

Yeah, FDA hasn’t approved it for pets yet, but lots of people use it safely. Just make sure to pick a high-quality, organic brand with no pesticides.

Good point. Checking reviews and making sure it’s tested is important. Some brands have quality certifications like USDA Organic.
