Anyone tried holistic pet care? Thoughts!

I’ve been looking into holistic pet care lately and wondering if it’s actually helpful. I read that it focuses on natural remedies like acupuncture, herbal stuff, and even diet changes. Seems like a cool way to keep pets healthy, but IDK if it actually works. Anyone here tried it? Would love to hear your experiences!

Yeah, I’ve been using holistic care for my dog. I switched up his diet, and it made a big difference. More energy, shinier coat, and he just seems happier overall.

That’s awesome! What kind of diet changes did you make?

@Blair
I added more fresh food—lean meats, veggies, and some supplements my holistic vet recommended. Cut down on processed kibble too.

@Blair
Wait, so you stopped feeding kibble completely?

Not completely! I still use some high-quality kibble, just not as the main thing. Fresh food is key.

I’m curious about acupuncture for pets. Does it actually work?

I tried it for my senior cat’s arthritis, and it helped a lot! She seemed way more comfortable after a few sessions.

My dog had acupuncture for anxiety. It didn’t fix everything, but I did notice she was a lot calmer afterward.

Holistic vets can be hard to find tho. Not every place has them.

Yeah, I had to search a bit, but some regular vets actually offer holistic options too.

You can also try digital consultations with holistic vets if there’s none near you.

Do you still go to a regular vet if you use holistic care?

Yep! You don’t have to choose one or the other. Holistic care is great for general wellness, but conventional vets are still needed for things like surgeries, x-rays, and emergencies.

Exactly! It’s all about balance. A mix of both works best.

Spot pet insurance actually covers some holistic treatments if they’re done by a licensed vet. Just throwing that out there!

Oh cool, didn’t know that! Does it cover supplements too?

@Darby
Yeah, if the supplement is prescribed to treat a covered condition, you can get reimbursed for it.
