Anyone tried teaching their dog cool tricks?

I’ve been trying to teach my dog some fun tricks, but IDK if I’m doing it right. I saw this thing about The Super Collies doing crazy cool stuff like dancing on feet, spinning, and crawling backward. Anyone tried teaching their dog tricks like these? Any tips?

Yeah, I taught my dog to spin! Just used treats to guide him in a circle and he got the hang of it.

Wait, do you have to teach them one side at a time?

Yeah, apparently dogs have a favorite side. So I focused on one direction first before trying the other.

My pup loves the ‘crawl backward’ trick! Took a bit of patience, but once I used a treat under his chest, he got it.

Oh, you have to put the treat under them? I was just saying ‘back’ and nothing happened lol.

@Lian
Haha yeah, you kinda have to place the treat between their legs toward their chest so they back up naturally.

Anyone tried the ‘dance on your feet’ trick? Looks fun but IDK if my dog will ever balance on my feet lol.

It’s not too bad! Start by guiding them between your legs with treats, then slowly get them to step onto your feet.

@Colby
Gotcha. So basically just keep rewarding every small step?

Yep! Small steps and lots of treats. Eventually, you can take tiny steps with them on your feet.

Tried teaching my dog to spin but she just stares at me lol. Maybe I’m holding the treat too high?

Yeah, try keeping it right at her nose level at first! If it’s too high, she might just look up instead of following it.
