I was snacking on some celery today and my dog looked super interested lol. I know some veggies are bad for dogs, but IDK about celery. Is it safe? Anyone here feed their dogs celery?
Yeah, celery is totally fine for dogs! It’s actually good for them—low-cal and full of vitamins. Just chop it into small pieces so they don’t choke.

My vet actually recommended celery when my dog needed to lose weight. It’s low-cal and hydrating, so it’s a good snack!

Just a few bite-sized pieces. Treats should be max 10% of their daily food, so I keep it light.
Be careful with big pieces tho! My dog almost choked once. Now I always cut it small before giving it to him.

I just give it raw. Cooking it is fine but kinda defeats the crunch, which helps clean their teeth.
Oh also, make sure to wash it well! Non-organic celery can have pesticides, and you don’t want your pup eating that.

It’s possible if they eat too much. Maybe start with a tiny amount and see how they do?

Yeah, some dogs might not digest it well. Just try a smaller piece next time.
