I was snacking on some pineapple and my dog looked at me like I was being rude for not sharing lol. I know some fruits are bad for dogs, but IDK about pineapple. Is it safe to give them a piece?
Yeah, dogs can eat pineapple, but only in moderation. It’s actually a good treat since it has vitamins and helps with digestion.

Oh cool, I didn’t know it helps digestion. Does it have fiber or something?
@Tyler
Yep, it’s got fiber, plus vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and iron. Just don’t overdo it because too much sugar isn’t great for them.
Just make sure to remove the skin and core. The core is too tough for them to digest and could be a choking hazard.

Good to know! I almost gave my dog a piece with the core. Thanks for the heads-up!
What about canned pineapple? I’ve got some in my fridge and was wondering if I could give my dog a little bit.

Not the best idea if it’s packed in syrup. Too much sugar. If it’s in water or natural juice with no added sugar, a small amount should be okay.
I freeze pineapple chunks in the summer for my pup. He loves them as a cool treat!
Can dogs eat dried pineapple too, or is that different?

Not the best option because dried pineapple has way more sugar. Fresh is better!
