I’ve seen rice listed in a bunch of dog food brands, so I was wondering… is it actually good for dogs? And is there a difference between white and brown rice? My pup’s stomach is kinda sensitive, so IDK if one is better than the other. Any advice?
Yeah, dogs can eat rice. Both white and brown are fine, but brown rice has more fiber and nutrients. White rice is easier to digest tho, so if your dog has a sensitive stomach, maybe try that?

Yup, that’s why vets recommend white rice when dogs have an upset stomach.
Just make sure it’s fully cooked and plain. No seasoning or spices, that stuff isn’t good for dogs.

Fr, I used to give my dog leftovers with some sauce and he got an upset stomach. Plain is the way to go.

Best to mix it with protein like chicken or fish. Also, shouldn’t be more than 10% of their daily food intake.

Yeah, rice can have arsenic, but you can lower it by rinsing it before cooking. Also, brown rice usually has less arsenic than white rice.

Ahh, good to know. I’ll make sure to rinse it first.
I give my dog rice when he has an upset stomach and it helps a lot. Usually mix it with some boiled chicken.

Oh nice, I might try that. My dog has a sensitive stomach so that might help.
