Can pets really spread covid-19?

So I was reading up on how COVID-19 affected pets back in the day, and it’s crazy how many animals got abandoned. Like, people in Wuhan had to break into homes to feed pets left behind. But IDK, some folks were scared that pets could spread it… is there any proof of that? Just wondering what you all think.

Nah, from what I read, there was no actual evidence that pets could spread COVID-19 to humans.

Oh okay, good to know. But did any animals even get sick from it?

I remember hearing about people abandoning pets out of fear. That part was sad af.

Yeah, in China, they even put down pets thinking they could spread it. Some were just left behind with no food or anything.

Honestly, even if there was no proof pets spread COVID-19, I think it was smart to be careful… like washing hands before and after handling them, just in case.

True! Plus, wiping their paws after coming inside was a good idea too. Just general hygiene, y’know?

Didn’t they say pet insurance could help with vet costs during that time? I swear I saw something about that.

Yeah, some companies covered emergency vet visits. Even had telehealth options for minor stuff.

All this makes me think… do we even have solid emergency plans for pets now? What if another pandemic happens?

Good point. People should have backup plans—like a friend or family member to take care of pets, vet records ready, updated tags, all that.
