I found him when he was 10 and spent the last 7 years with him, he just turned 17 on November 24 and we celebrated his birthday. Today he had a stroke and seizure, and we rushed him to the hospital, not knowing it would be the last time we held him. It came so suddenly, and I already miss him so much. I’m grateful for the time we shared these past 7 years. I knew he had been unwell, but it was still so sudden to make the choice to let him go. It felt like he held on just long enough to say goodbye on his birthday. I’m lost without him now.
17 is so old for a dog
He had such a long and happy life with you. That’s all he ever knew, and that’s all that matters.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye to a loyal companion is one of the hardest things.
My heart goes out to you. So sorry for your loss
My deepest condolences
Pets show us what unconditional love really is, and we’re lucky to have them in our lives.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is so painful. It’s okay to be a mess right now.
I’m glad he had you – someone who loved him – to rescue him and care for him all those years. He made it to such a great age because of the love and care you gave him.
P.S. …it’s okay to be a mess! I’m a mess too!
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s good that you both had 7 wonderful years together. He felt love because of you. My condolences
