So I’ve been noticing some changes in my female cat lately and now I’m wondering if she might be pregnant… she’s acting different and I think her belly’s a bit bigger than usual. Is there a way to actually tell without guessing? I’ve never dealt with a pregnant cat before so I’m kinda clueless lol. What should I be looking out for?
Yooo same here. Mine’s gained like 2 pounds in just a few weeks and her belly looks rounder too. Could be a sign for real.

Yeah, my vet said weight gain like that is super common. Usually around 2 to 4 pounds during the whole pregnancy.

Around week 5 is when you’ll really start to notice her stomach getting bigger.

Omg mine too!! She’s usually independent but now she wants pets all the time. Thought it was just a weird phase.
If she suddenly stopped going into heat, that could be a sign. Mine used to go into heat every two weeks like clockwork, now nothing.

Yeah that’s actually one of the earliest signs. No heat = possible kittens coming soon

Totally normal. Pregnant cats can get morning sickness just like humans. As long as it’s not super frequent, it’s chill.

FYI if you really wanna be sure, take her to the vet. They can do an ultrasound or even feel the kittens if she’s far enough along.

Ooh didn’t know about the ultrasound thing for cats. How early can they do that?

Like week 2-ish they can start seeing stuff on the scan. Heartbeats show up around week 3.

X-rays are another option but only after 42 days. That’s when the kittens’ bones start to show up.
Mine started hiding a lot more after a few weeks. She used to chill with everyone but now she’s all about that alone time.

That’s nesting behavior for sure. They start looking for a safe spot to give birth. Box + towels = happy momma cat.
