With the holidays coming up, I was thinking about how I could do something for animals this season. I know donations and volunteering are a good start, but I’m wondering if there are other ways to help too. Anyone got ideas?
Yeah, volunteering at shelters is always a solid option. They always need extra hands, especially during the holidays.

For sure! You can help with chores, walk dogs, or even just spend time with the animals. They need the company too.

IDK if I’d be able to foster, but volunteering at a shelter sounds doable. Do you just show up or do you have to sign up first?
@Fin
Depends on the shelter. Some need you to sign up in advance, but others take walk-ins. Best to check their website or call first.
Another easy way to help is by donating stuff. Shelters can always use blankets, pet food, and toys.

Yeah, and if you’re hosting a holiday party, you can ask guests to bring a donation instead of a gift. Kinda like a mini fundraiser.
Sharing posts from local rescues on social media helps a lot too. More people see the animals that need homes that way.

Oh, that’s a good one. Never thought about how much that could actually help!
If you’re shopping online, use AmazonSmile. A percentage of what you spend goes to an animal charity of your choice.

Wait, how does AmazonSmile work?

You just go to smile.amazon instead of the regular site, pick a charity, and a small percentage of your purchase goes to them. No extra cost to you!
Don’t forget about your own pets! Give them some extra love, new toys, or even look into pet insurance for peace of mind.
