So I’ve been wondering… how do you guys keep your pets safe during COVID? I know it’s rare for pets to get it, but I still wanna be careful. I read that you should keep them indoors and avoid letting strangers pet them, but what else should I do? Also, has anyone tried mobile vet services? Are they worth it?
Yeah, I’ve been keeping my dog indoors as much as possible. I only take him out on short walks and make sure no one pets him. I heard washing them after they interact with others can help too.

Wait, you actually bathe your dog every time someone pets him? Isn’t that a lot of work?
@Amory
Lol, not a full bath, just a quick wipe-down with pet-friendly wipes. Just to be safe, you know?
I’ve been avoiding dog parks completely. I read that people who walk their dogs are 78% more likely to get COVID… kinda crazy. I just do quick solo walks and head straight home.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that. Do they know why dog owners are more at risk?
@Morgan
Not really sure, but maybe it’s because people aren’t keeping enough distance or letting others pet their dogs. Either way, I’d rather be extra careful.
Stocking up on pet supplies is a good idea too. I grabbed extra food and meds just in case I get sick or stores run out.

Yeah, I did the same. Who knows when another shortage could happen?
Anyone using mobile vet services? My cat hates car rides, so I was thinking of trying one.

I was wondering about that too! Are they as good as regular vet visits?

They’re actually really convenient! My vet does telemedicine for minor stuff, and they even have a mobile grooming van that comes to your driveway.
Also, have an emergency plan for your pet. Like, who’s gonna take care of them if you get really sick?

That’s a good point. I should probably write down my dog’s routine and meds just in case.
