So I measured my cat the other day and she’s like 9 inches tall at the shoulder. IDK if that’s average or not, but she looks so tiny compared to my friend’s Maine Coon. I used a tape measure from the floor to her shoulder (not the head lol). Just wondering how tall other people’s cats are and if 9 inches is pretty normal?
9 inches sounds pretty normal tbh. Most female cats are around that height. Males go closer to 10 I think.

Yup, saw somewhere that female cats are usually like 9in and males around 10in. Mine’s a male and he’s about 10.5!

Just the shoulder. You don’t count the head when measuring cat height

Yeah! They’re usually like 6-7 inches. Super short legs but full of attitude 
If you got a Savannah or Maine Coon, you’d see real height lol. Those beasts get up to like 16 or even 17 inches

LOL same here when I was a kid. Learned the right way recently thanks to a vet post.
Size really depends on breed and stuff too. Like my Ragdoll’s a bit taller than average, but she’s super chill and chunky

Yep! Good food helps them reach full size. Undernourished ones usually stay smaller.
