hey guys, i just got a new pup and she’s been having diarrhea since yesterday. i’m kinda freaking out a bit 
not sure if it’s something serious or just something she ate. i haven’t changed her food recently, but she’s been chewing random stuff outside. she’s also new to the house so idk if it’s stress or what. anyone else dealt with this before?
yep, been there. mine had the same issue when i brought him home. turned out it was stress + a quick food switch. did you change her food recently?

nah, i’ve been giving her the same kibble. maybe she picked something up from the ground outside though?

yeah could be. if she drank from standing water or ate something off the ground, she might have picked up parasites like giardia. happened to my pup too.
watch for other signs too… like is she tired? not eating? feverish? those could mean it’s more than just stress or diet.

she’s a little less playful than usual, but still eating okay. no fever that i can tell tho.
tbh the safest thing is just seeing a vet asap. diarrhea can get bad fast if it’s from something like a virus or parasite.

facts. my vet had to give meds when it was a parasite. better to know than guess.
you tried the bland diet thing? like plain rice + boiled chicken? helped my pup after a tummy issue.

same! i added a lil plain yogurt too (the no-sugar type). made it easier for my dog to eat the rice lol

yeah! as long as it’s plain and low sugar, it’s actually good for digestion.
btw how old is your pup? under 6 months?

ah ok, then don’t try the ‘withhold food’ trick. it can mess with their blood sugar at that age.

basically skipping meals for a bit to let the stomach rest. but not safe for really young pups.
