Okay, so I always thought cats loved milk and it was like their fave thing ever. But I just found out that most adult cats are actually lactose intolerant?? Apparently, once they stop being kittens, they can’t really digest milk properly anymore. Like, it can actually give them gas, diarrhea, and all that messy stuff. I feel kinda bad now thinking about the times I gave mine a little milk treat. Is water the only thing they should drink or are there safer milk options out there?
Yeah, I heard that too. Most adult cats just can’t handle lactose anymore. I stopped giving mine milk ages ago.

Same, I used to give my cat a little bowl and wonder why she’d act weird after. Now it makes sense lol.
@Whitney
Omg SAME mine used to get so gassy after… I thought it was normal til I read up on it.
Water’s def the safest drink for them. But you can flavor it with stuff like tuna juice or bone broth if you want to switch it up a bit.

Wait what… tuna juice?? That’s safe??
@Luca
Yeah, just a lil bit though! Adds flavor but still keeps ‘em hydrated.
If you really wanna give your cat milk, there’s stuff like lactose-free milk or even cat milk you can buy. Just go easy on it.

Yeah! Pet stores sell it. It’s like special milk that’s easier for cats to digest.
Lol it’s wild how they love milk even though it messes them up. I guess it’s the smell and fat that gets them hooked.

Yeah, like a comfort thing too, right? Like reminds them of their mom or something.
Just don’t give them cheese or yogurt either. It’s all still dairy and can mess with their stomach.

Fr, I thought cheese was safe in tiny amounts but my cat was throwing up after I gave her some
