Hey y’all… so I’ve been eyeing a Shiba Inu puppy lately 
but I keep hearing they can be kinda independent and stubborn? I love their look and vibe but not sure if they’re too much to handle. Anyone here got one or know what to expect? I’d appreciate the heads-up before I jump in lol.
I’ve had my Shiba for 3 years now. They def have that stubborn streak and they’re not super cuddly either. But they’re super loyal once they bond with you.

Yeah exactly lol. They’re smart but if they don’t feel like doing something, they just won’t. You gotta be patient and use positive reinforcement.

One thing people don’t talk about enough is the ‘Shiba scream’ 
it’s real. They’re usually quiet but when they’re not… oh boy.

Haha it’s this super loud howl/scream they make when they’re hyped or upset. It’s kinda cute but also intense
FYI they shed. Like a LOT. Year-round but even worse during spring and fall. Hope you like brushing lol.

They’re low key in some ways, like they’re clean and don’t bark for no reason. But grooming is def a thing.

They do better with older kids tbh. Ones who understand boundaries. My teen and our Shiba are tight.
If you’re gonna get one, def start socializing early. Like take them around people and other dogs ASAP. Makes a huge difference later.

Facts. I didn’t do that and now mine’s super aloof around strangers

Also training early with rewards is the move. They’re smart af but need motivation.
