I was looking at Maine Coon cats and wow, I didn’t realize they came in SO many colors. I thought they were mostly brownish tabby types, but apparently, there are like 85 different color combos? 
Anyone here have a Maine Coon? What color is yours?
Yeah, Maine Coons come in a bunch of colors! Solid black, white, red (basically ginger), cream, blue (which is kinda grey), brown, silver… and even smoke-colored ones where the roots are lighter than the tips.

It means the fur looks like one solid color at first, but if you look closely, the base of the hairs is lighter than the tips. Kinda like a cool fade effect.

Ohhh got it! So a black smoke cat would look black, but the roots would be lighter?
I have a cream-colored Maine Coon, and he’s the sweetest, most chill cat ever. People say different colors might have different personalities… not sure if that’s true, but mine is def a cuddler.

Lol, I heard that too! Some people think certain colors have different vibes, like red ones are more playful or black ones are more independent. No idea if it’s legit though.

I feel like it’s more about the cat’s individual personality than the color, but it’s a fun theory!

Yeah, they’re one of the oldest natural breeds in North America too. Basically, they’ve been around forever!

They all have either medium or long hair! And their fur is super soft and silky, but the texture can change depending on the color.

IDK the exact science, but yeah, some colors have slightly different textures. Like, some are silkier while others feel a bit fluffier.
