What is the best insurance for cats with preexisting conditions?

What’s the best insurance for cats with preexisting conditions, such as diabetes and IBD? My senior cats, Ozzie (12) and Bug (15), have been diagnosed with IBD, and Ozzie has had diabetes for a few years. They’re otherwise healthy and active, with no signs of arthritis or slowing down beyond their usual laziness.

I’ve looked through this PAWLICY forum for recommendations, but many companies don’t cover preexisting conditions, which is understandable. I tried to sign up with Felix, but I couldn’t complete the purchase, and their support email had a misspelling. Is Felix a reliable option, or should I consider other choices?

No insurance company will cover claims for preexisting conditions. However, AKC Pet Insurance may be an option as they cover preexisting conditions if the pet has been symptom-free for one year.

Felix mentioned they would cover preexisting conditions, but the premium is higher.

That’s good to hear. In that case, I’d stick with them.

I was hoping to get some feedback on whether they’re any good before I spend the money, but that’s alright.

Oh, I see you were just assessing them. I don’t know much about them myself, I only researched AKC.

AKC will cover pre existing conditions after a year of coverage. I’m counting down until I can get them to cover my dog’s urinary tract issues (I’ve already spent almost $20k on her in the past year).
