I’ve been thinking about adding more veggies to my dog’s diet, but IDK what’s safe for them. I know some veggies are good for dogs, but others can be harmful, so I wanted to ask the community, what veggies do you feed your dog? I’ve heard carrots and sweet potatoes are good, but are there any others I should try?
I give my dog carrots and green beans all the time. He loves them! I usually bake them with no seasoning, and he’s totally fine with them.

Same here, lol. My dog goes crazy for carrots. I also do sweet potatoes sometimes. Just make sure to bake them like you said!

I tried broccoli once, and he wasn’t really into it. Guess it depends on the dog, haha.
I’ve been doing zucchini and pumpkin, and my dog seems to love them. I just bake them and skip any oils or seasonings, like the article said.

Nice! I haven’t tried zucchini yet. I might try that next time. Does it have to be baked or can you serve it raw?

I’d bake it. Raw zucchini might be a little harder to digest for some dogs.
I’ve been avoiding onions and garlic since I’ve read they’re toxic to dogs. Always check if you’re unsure!

Yeah, I was surprised to learn that garlic can be toxic. Glad I looked it up before giving it to my dog.
I give my dog a little bit of broccoli and sweet potatoes every now and then, but it’s true, veggies should be no more than 10% of their diet. Keep it balanced!

Totally agree. I like mixing in some veggies, but I still give my dog mostly meat.
Has anyone tried giving their dog raw potatoes? I read that they can be harmful, but I’m curious if anyone has tried cooking them in a way that’s safe?

Yeah, raw potatoes can be bad for dogs. I’d skip them for sure. If you want to try, bake them and leave out the seasonings.

Thanks, I won’t risk it. Better safe than sorry!
