I had just lost my longtime Chihuahua, and then I saw a notice on Petfinder about a female chihuahua who was malnourished and struggling to survive. We adopted her, and after some rough months, she came around and now she’s the sweetest girl.
I wanted a dog that would get me up and moving, so I got an Australian cattle dog. She needs lots of exercise, so we go hiking daily. She’s beautiful and worth every step.
First dog was a puppy that followed me home one night.
Second one was the breed I wanted and learned fast in the shelter. At first, I wasn’t sure, but she’s turning out to be a great dog and will be fun to train for sports.
We volunteered at the shelter. One day during an event, he caught my eye. He looked at me with his ears perked, and that was all it took. He’s been with us ever since.
I love scruffy dogs. When the shelter posted a video of him being playful but also calm, I knew he was my dog. He even grabbed my purse and ran around with it when I met him. I was sold!

She picked me. One late night I saw her running across the street, called out to her, and she jumped right into my car. We’ve been together for over 12 years now.
I have two dogs now. My first one had the sweetest face in her adoption picture, and she’s been the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. The second one I drove 12 hours to adopt after being contacted about her because she was overlooked for adoption. Both of them are my loves.
