Why does my cat keep biting me, normal or nah?

Lately my cat has been biting me outta nowhere… like sometimes during cuddles or when I’m petting him, boom, bite :weary:. It’s not like aggressive or anything, but it still hurts sometimes. I’m confused cause he’s super sweet otherwise. Is this normal? Anyone else dealing with this kinda stuff?

Yeah my cat does this too, especially when I pet her for a while. I think it’s her way of saying ‘okay, enough now’ lol.

Fr! Mine gets all cuddly then suddenly flips. I heard they show signs before biting like tail flicks or twitchy ears?

Yup that’s true. It’s like their little warning system before they snap :joy:. Just gotta watch for the signs.

Fast flicks usually. Like the tail gets tense and starts whipping around. That’s when I know I need to back off :sweat_smile:.

Some cats bite outta love too. They’re called ‘love nips’ :smile:. Sounds sweet but yeah… still ouch sometimes.

Apparently they do that to each other too when they’re being affectionate. Cats are weird lil lovebugs :joy:

If your cat’s still a kitten, it could be teething. Mine chewed on everything around 9-12 weeks. Even my toes :grimacing:

Around 9 weeks-ish. It can last a few months too so buckle up lol.

Sometimes cats just don’t vibe with petting. Mine only likes short pets and then dips. Respect the paws :joy_cat:

Sameee. I used to think mine hated me but turns out he just wants space most of the time.

Yeah and if they suddenly change and start getting all bitey, it could mean they’re not feeling well. Like illness or injury.

Could be fear too. If things are changing around your place, that can stress them out and make them bite.

True. Moved apartments recently and my cat was biting way more. Needed time to adjust I guess.

Sometimes they just need a quiet corner to chill in. Don’t always need comfort, just space.

Also they might be grooming you. Mine licks then bites gently like he’s cleaning me or something lol.
