So my cat has been licking me a lot lately, and IDK if it’s just a weird cat thing or if I should be worried. Sometimes it feels like they’re just being affectionate, but other times it’s like they won’t stop. Is this normal? Anyone else have a cat that does this?
Yeah, my cat does this too! Apparently, it’s a way of showing affection, kinda like how mother cats groom their kittens.

Yep, exactly! If your cat licks you a lot, they prob see you as family.
Sometimes they lick to mark their territory too. Like, they’re basically saying ‘you’re mine’ lol.

It could be stress too. Cats sometimes lick as a way to self-soothe when they’re anxious.

If they’re licking themselves excessively too, or if their routine changed recently, that might be a sign of stress.
Maybe your cat was weaned too early? Some cats develop an oral fixation and lick more because of that.

Basically, if they were taken from their mom too soon, they might still have the instinct to suckle, so they lick instead.
