Can Pets Best Pet Insurance Expedite Claims?

Hey, I’ve had Pets Best insurance for my dog since April, and it’s my first time with pet insurance, so I’m still figuring things out.
Recently, my dog started having seizures, and they’ve been happening daily, even with the meds. All the tests came back inconclusive, and now the vets are recommending an MRI, but we can’t afford to pay for it out of pocket.
We filed our first claim about 4 days ago, and Pets Best said it could take 15 to 42 days to process. I can’t imagine my dog going through seizures every day for that long. They told us they can’t expedite claims and that they review them in the order they get them, which I get for fairness.
But has anyone had any luck getting Pets Best to speed up a claim recently, or does anyone have advice for this situation?

Not sure about expediting claims, but you could look into Care Credit or maybe open a new credit card with zero-interest financing for the first few months. That way, when Pets Best reimburses you, you can just pay off the card without any interest. It’s like getting a free loan.

I’m really sorry to hear about your dog’s seizures, I hope you get some answers soon.
From what I’ve seen, most companies won’t speed up claims, especially since they usually don’t review your pet’s records for pre-existing conditions until you file the first claim, which can take time. Pets Best has been processing claims more slowly lately too.
In your situation, you’ll probably need to apply for something like Scratchpay, Care Credit, or even use your credit card while you wait for Pets Best to finish their review. You can try following up with them regularly to make sure they’re working on it, but they usually stick to their timeline.
I don’t think any vet would suggest waiting too long, especially since you’ll have to cover the MRI upfront anyway. And don’t forget, your deductible might apply to the first claim. This is one of the frustrating parts of pet insurance having to pay out of pocket first. I really hope you can get the MRI done soon. Good luck

Thanks a lot for the advice, I’ll definitely look into those options. Appreciate the help @KeyGlock and @Flippa
