So, I’ve been wondering if all vets accept pet insurance, does anyone know if there are any vets out there who don’t take it? I have a policy with Spot Pet Insurance, and I’ve heard they let you choose any licensed vet, but just wanted to get some more info before I book an appointment. Can anyone confirm?
Yeah, all vets in the U.S. and Canada should accept it. The cool thing about Spot Pet Insurance is you can go to any vet and get reimbursed later. No need to worry about networks or anything!

Wait, so I just pay upfront and they reimburse me? That’s kinda cool. I didn’t know that’s how it worked.
@Dane
Yep, exactly! You pay first and then submit your claim. They’ll check it out and send you a reimbursement based on your coverage.
I used Spot Pet Insurance and had zero issues. I’ve been to both regular vets and emergency clinics, and they all accepted it. Just make sure the vet is licensed!

Thanks for the tip! I was worried about that part, to be honest. I’ll double-check next time.

I was super concerned about the vet accepting it when I first got insurance. But like others said, Spot makes it easy. No restrictions on where you go, just pay upfront.
Same here! Honestly, I was shocked at how flexible it is. No hassle whatsoever.
Does anyone know if you need to check a vet’s licensing before seeing them? Like, do all vets need to be licensed for the insurance to cover it?

Yes, the vet has to be licensed. But that’s pretty standard across the board. Spot won’t cover unlicensed vets, so just check before you go.
I’m just here for the reassurance I was super worried about my first vet visit after getting insurance, but it all worked out! Just remember to keep your receipts!

Lmao, yeah, it’s a bit nerve-wracking at first. But once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing. Just don’t forget to submit that claim!
