They soaked cat collars in eucalyptus oil. I heard the cats screaming and mom and sister laughing. I came into the room and the cats were drooling and screaming, trying to get the collars off. Mom and sister said they just thought the cats would get used to it. I researched and showed them that eucalyptus is dangerous for cats. The cats were okay, but I am so frustrated with the level of carelessness they showed.
They were laughing? Laughing at the cats in pain? What is wrong with them?

That’s messed up.
Your whole family should sit down and talk about this. If your dad is around, get him involved. They put family members in danger and laughed about it.
Straight to jail for them.

Jail.

Should go to the funeral home.
I’d report them and tell them what happened. Make sure they know your mom and sister poisoned the cats and didn’t care that they were suffering. This isn’t just stupidity; it’s cruelty. They laughed while the cats were in pain.
I would have made them wear the collars and see how they like it. They’re out of their minds.

Make sure the collar is tight. Don’t let it slip off.

Exactly. I hate choker chains but would make an exception for them. Add it to their homemade flea collars.

Maybe add a shock collar too. Don’t want them taking it off, do we?
Eucalyptus oil can lead to liver failure in cats. Get them to the vet immediately. Honestly, I would make sure your mom and sister face consequences so they can’t get pets again.

People keep saying to press charges, but that’s not how it works. The district attorney decides based on police reports. You can report it to the authorities, and they will handle it from there. It’s not up to you to press charges, but it’s important to report this so the right action is taken.

Good idea. Giving them Denamarin could help until they get to the vet.
Not enough people are saying this: get them to the vet now.
Get those cats out of there now.
Anyone else worried about the original poster’s safety too?
The poor cats must have been in so much pain. Eucalyptus oil would burn their skin, hurt their eyes, and make breathing difficult. What is wrong with your mom and sister?
I can’t believe this. I’m so shocked.
