The heat in my home is currently out, and there’s a cold snap outside. The daily temperatures are in the teens, and at night, they’re in single digits. Inside, the house is at mid to high 50s during the day, and when I use the heater at night, it stays in the mid 60s. I’m not too worried about night time since I have the heater and heated blankets, plus my baby always loves to snuggle. But I’m more worried about her during the day when I can’t have the heater or heating pad running while I’m at work. What are some ways I can help keep her warm while I’m gone?
When my dog was alive, I used to put a hot water bottle next to him so he could snuggle it and stay warm. He really liked it, and now I do the same with my foster cats. They love it too, and there’s no risk of fire.
Try making a little nest for her. You can use a box or bin with a top, then line it with a couple of blankets so she can curl up inside and trap her body heat. This will give her a warm place to go when she gets cold. She’ll be alright.
